Philae – Another Dream to Reality

Rosetta's_Philae_touchdownPhilae lander achieved the first-ever controlled touchdown on comet 67P, 12 November 2014 and Its instruments obtained the first images from a comet’s surface. Philae is a robotic European Space Agency lander that landed on Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko (67P), traveled more than ten years after departing Earth.


Ariane 5G+ rocket carrying the Rosetta spacecraft and Philae lander launched from French Guiana on 2 March 2004, 07:17 UTC,  and traveled for 3,907 days (10.7 years) to Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko till 2 November 2014.
